Terpene Evaporation: The Silent Profit Killer | Boveda Webinar

Why this webinar matters

Terpene preservation is part of the journey from a good harvest to a consistent finished product. This SHYIELD-hosted webinar features Brian Rice and Scott Swail of Boveda and explores where post-harvest humidity control fits into that journey.

What you will learn

  • How post-harvest handling connects to terpene evaporation and trichome health.
  • The role of humidity control in maintaining cannabis quality during storage.
  • Why water activity belongs in the conversation about moisture and finished-product value.

Three practical checks to start with

1. Review the whole storage journey

Map the time flower spends in each container, how often it is opened, and the conditions it encounters before shipment. Use that map to identify where your team should collect measurements.

2. Validate the pack and package together

Boveda’s two-way humidity control adds or absorbs water vapour to regulate relative humidity in a closed container. Choose the pack size and humidity target using current manufacturer guidance, then validate the complete packaging workflow with your QA team.

3. Keep measurement separate from assumptions

Record moisture content and water activity as separate measurements in your quality program. A humidity-control pack is a tool in the process; it does not replace testing, release criteria or a facility-specific QA plan.
